Tag Team Back Again

Happy New Year!  Oh wait...  That happened, like, 13 days ago.  Sorry I've been absent lately.  I hope everybody had a fantastic holiday season and the most badass of new year's.  I spent the holidays watching far too many movies and munching on snacks.  I even have the crappy food porn to prove it.

Doesn't the 70's cookbook lighting make everything look so appealing?  Mmm.  Don't all lick your screens at once.

So the real reason I took so long is because this blog is changing focus sorta.  I am currently embarking on a weight loss journey (but for real this time).  I'm doing it for a few reasons.  The first reason is stress management.  Last year was one of the worst years of my life and I didn't really address any of the situations. All of that really took a toll on my emotional well being.  So I decided I'd change my perspective this year.  So far, all the working out has really, really relaxed me.

Secondly, my boobs are killing my back.  Rather than opt for the tempting reduction, I'd rather dance my chesticles off.  Nobody steal that phrase because I'm in a development deal with Bravo.  Not really.

Lastly, I'd just really like to get back down to my pre-relationship weight.  I gained A LOT over the past 6 years.   It has everything to do with getting more sedentary jobs, having a better understanding of what veganism offered, and complacency.  I aim to change that last one.

So far things have worked out well.  Right now I'm eating lots of raw and focusing on all whole foods.  Also no gluten, alcohol, unhealthy desserts, or tons of added fat.  As I meet each goal, I'll add something back into my diet.

Basically, I'll focus a lot more on health until I meet my final goal.  I figure now is a great a time as any.  Now I leave you with the apron I just finished sewing for my sister.  It's the second apron I've ever made so I'm proud.  NOTE: Please excuse the forced smile...totally forgot about the ten second camera delay.

Kudos for taking the steps needed to be committed to your health. It will be challenging along the way, but it is going to be worth it in the end. Adorable apron by the way!

The apron is adorable! I'm pretty jealous of your sister right now.

I know what you mean about stress. I'm trying to get some extra exercise to try to manage mine, too, but it's hard in the winter to get outside (or out from under a pile of blankets) and do anything :\ Good luck! I'm looking forward to seeing your progress.

That apron is awesome, your goals sound great, and 70s cookbook lighting is a phrase I use all the time to describe photo qualities :) Seriously, though, good luck with everything and I'm glad to see you back!

Cute apron!

I am right with you on the weight loss journey and overabundance of boobs. A reasonable size would be nice, ya know?

Anyway, just wanted to let you know that you're not alone in this. Peace.

i am on a similar journey :)
I have not cut gluten; but i did cut sugar and white flour completely; as well as most flour in general unless it's a special occassion. I gave up coffee and started drinking a smoothie before i allow myself green tea; that's helping.
How much weight are you trying to lose?

Jessie-Thanks!

Debra-Ooh. I heart you and your sweet giveaways!

Mihl-Thanks!

Radioactivegan-This entire thing is doing wonders for my stress. I love it. And thanks!

Swellvegan-Seriously. What were they thinking in the 70s?

Sherrie-Word. I'd gladly hand over some boobage in exchange for the ability to wear button down shirts that close all the way and don't make me look boxy.

Lacey-I'm not being so strict with the gluten. I've allowed myself soy sauce and some leftover healthy muffins. I mostly needed to control my dependence on seitan and bread. My final goal is 70 lbs, but I am taking it slow...aiming for 8 lbs a month.

Dreaminitvegan-Thanks!

Sarah-Holla!

Breast of luck to you! It sounds like you are focused and being honest with yourself about where you want to be and what it will take to get there. I need to take note and get a better plan going for my own self. Exercise has been in full gear but the eating could definitely use some work. Keep us posted and I love that apron!

That apron is fantastic, my apron is ashamed of its mediocrity.

Good luck with the weight loss! I am also working on healthier eating, so hopefully we will find ourselves with healthier bodies and more ideas for delicious nutritious meals. Be sure to blog about those delicious nutritious meals too.

Sazzy apron! And I giggled so much after reading chesticles - hee hee hee. Good luck on your weight loss, I have a few pounds to shift after all the Christmas eating and boozing and eating and boozing. Alcohol is my worse enemy but I so enjoy it, I stopped drinking beer a year ago (WOW!!A whole year!!) and now I only drink wine and occasionally spirits. Exercise is the thing I am mainly concentrating on i.e - I need to do some.
Happy New Year Mo - this year is gonna be AWESOME for you.

You made me laugh outloud with your "70's cookbook lighting" hilariousness! :-D

That is only the second apron you've ever made?! Very impressive, it looks absolutely perfect! And it's so pretty!

You are awesome, I love your attitude and all the Mo'ness that comes with it. Have fun dancing your chesticles off! (Bravo is SO going to steal that idea!)

I said the word "chesticles" to my mom a few years ago and she nearly peed herself. It's a great word!

Good luck and I hope you make this lifestyle change. One thing that we most forget is that this change must be changed as a lifestyle not just a temporary fix.
